Exploration for diamonds in the Abminga area, 150 km north-northwest of Oodnadatta, comprised field investigations of aeromagnetic anomalies using ground magnetics, loam and stream gravel sampling. Loam sample results were negative, several chromite grains were recorded in gravel samples, and ground magnetic signatures indicated a near-surface source.
