The exploration target in an area located 20 km east-northeast of Olary was economic gold mineralization within Early Proterozoic ironstone and pyritic lode horizons. Drilling results and samples from previous work in the Green and Gold and Wilkins prospects underlined the poddy and discontinuous nature of the banded iron formations. Aeromagnetic interpretation and ground magnetics were undertaken to try to identify concealed, potentially gold-bearing quartz-magnetite(-pyrite) lodes of the type known to be copper mineralised over the surrounding district. However, bedrock RAB and auger drilling (61 holes, total 773 m) downgraded the potential for finding near-surface economic mineralization.
