5 selected drill core samples from the depth interval 1800-9030 feet KB were studied palynologically. The samples were dated as Devonian, confirming an earlier, independent age determination based on chitinozoa. The material was also analysed for source rock potential and it was found that the contained organic matter was mainly humic and gas-prone, but too low in content to generate significant hydrocarbons.
