Comprises details of the operations, field acquisition, results and interpretation of the two seismic and gravity surveys (Poolowanna, Emery). This report is a reinterpretation of the surveys, incorporating the results of previous surveys and taking into account the information obtained from the resulting wells (Mokari 1, Mt Crispe 1).Two geological provinces have been recognised in the survey area: Simpson Desert area and Border area. In the Simpson Desert area, Lower Permian sediments are the only potential petroleum target; drilling results indicate an unfavourable geological history for petroleum generation. A limited sedimentary basin containing Lower and Upper Palaeozoic Series has been interpreted between the Emery Range and the Musgrave Block; its petroleum potential is unknown. Part 1 of the report provides the geological and geophysical background; Part 2 provides details and interpretation of the two surveys (Poolowanna, Emery).
