Comprises details of the operations, field acquisition, results and interpretation of the seismic survey. A total of 268 miles of conventional seismic and 6.5 miles of 3-fold data were recorded. The objectives were to improve the structural and stratigraphic understanding of the NW part of the Coopers Creek Basin (north of the Gidgealpa-Merrimela structural trend), define drillable prospects, and reveal new prospective areas. The concurrent gravity survey was carried out to aid interpretation of seismic data and to help delineate areas for further exploration (see App. 4). From the survey data a promising NE-SW structural trend has been identified; the extent of Permian sediments better defined and indicators of structural traps revealed; and the Innamincka redbeds have been shown to overlie the Lower Cambrian volcanic sequence intersected in +Kalladeina 1. Two additional muti-coverage seismic lines are recommended to tie existing lines and provide more control in the NE.

Notes: This is two of two seismic surveys contained in this envelope. 1970 seismic survey, Jimpawirrie, final report.: Comprises details of the operations, field acquisition, results and interpretation of the seismic survey. A total of 52 miles of detailed seismic data was recorded with the aim of evaluating structure indicated by earlier work. No new structures were outlined, but confirmation of previous known ones was achieved. The area as proved by Tirrawarra and Moorari Fields is highly prospective and all small structures need to be investigated. Drilling on at least one small high should prove whether they can be commercial, and if so, more seismic willl be required. Geographic Locality: Patchawarra Doc No: Env 01212 p: 64-118
