Operations which encompassed ground in SA and Victoria comprised two major projects, the Sunset seismic survey (190 line-km in SA), and a three hole drilling programme (Nadda 1 in SA - see Env 1350 for well completion report). The survey showed the presence of a deep embayment in the basement topography marginal to the Renmark Trough, named the Paringa Embayment, and containing a thick sedimentary sequence interpreted as Permian, Cretaceous and Tertiary in age. Three wells were drilled to investigate the hydrocarbon potential of the lower, un-named, Creataceous unit. The target horizon proved to be a thick sandstone, porous but water saturated. No significant shows of hydrocarbons were encountered and the wells were plugged and abandoned.
