R 6 survey details (first part of survey - Oct.'71 to Jan.'72): AIM: To confirm and detail structural trends and leads in EPPs SA-6, 7 and 10, as part of Shell's shallow water offshore programme, with the intent of providing future drilling locations. METHODS: Survey dates: 29/10/71 - 15/1/72 [note that operations were suspended from 17/11/71 until 13/1/72 inclusive]. Energy source: 1300 cu. in. tuned airgun array. CDP coverage: 2400%. Recording mode: 48 channel digital - Texas Instruments DFS III recorder. SP interval: 50.0 metres; group interval: 50.0 metres. 70 seismic reflection lines totalling 1382 line km were acquired by Party 909 of contractor Geophysical Service International Inc. using the M/V R.C. Dunlap working out of Port Lincoln; the data was processed in Sydney, NSW by Party 854 of the same company. Positional support was provided by Offshore Navigation, Inc. using the Shoran system. R 6 survey details (second part of survey - Jan. to Feb.'72): AIM: To delineate possible stratigraphic and structural traps on either side of the Elliston (Polda) Trough in EPP SA-5, and also to confirm and detail structural trends and leads in EPPs SA-6, 10 and 11, as part of Shell's deep water offshore programme, with the intent of providing future drilling locations. METHODS: Survey dates: 14 - 16/11/71, and 24/1/72 - 11/2/72. Energy source: 1300 cu. in. tuned airgun array. CDP coverage: 2400%. Recording mode: 48 channel digital - Texas Instruments DFS III recorder. SP interval: 50.0 metres; group interval: 50.0 metres. 42 seismic reflection lines totalling 2737 line km were acquired and processed by the same contractor parties as previously.
