5 core plug samples from the Murta/Namur oil reservoir interval 4143-4182 feet KB in Nungeroo 1, 4 core plugs from the Patchawarra wet gas reservoir interval 6601-6652 feet KB in Garanjanie 2, and 3 core plugs from the Epsilon wet gas reservoir interval 6201-6208 feet KB in Dirkala 2 were analysed by the Gearhart Petrophysics Laboratory in Fort Worth, Texas at the request of Delhi Petroleum. Besides routine core analyses at ambient pressure conditions, plus separate porosity and permeability determinations at overburden pressure, measurements were taken of the varying electrical resistivities of the core plugs, when saturated with simulated formation brines, as a function of current frequency (being the same as that of field electric logging tools) and overburden pressure. Values of the formation restivity factor and cementation exponent were then derived from these observations. Other core properties investigated included the cation exchange capacity, capillary pressure response, bulk and clay mineralogy by XRD, and petroleum potential from pyrolysis output indices. Thin sections were also cut from the samples and brief petrological descriptions and illustrative photomicrographs prepared.
