During their initial and only licence term the licensees conducted significant regional geological and geophysical studies (seismic mapping, source rock maturation and burial history profiling, and oil migration/entrapment modelling), acquired 60 line km of new seismic (the Crater Seismic Survey), reprocessed 27 line km of old seismic, drilled an unsuccessful wildcat well on the Crater Prospect, and reinterpreted the seismic mapping of the Mulapula area. Lack of industry investment interest negated several farmout attempts and precluded drilling of the Years 4/5 commitment well, and the licence was accordingly allowed to expire at the end of Year 5.
