This consultant's report prepared for the EPP SA-2 operator comprises a review of the regional basinal geology, tectonics and stratigraphy, petroleum exploration history and recorded hydrocarbon occurrences, seismic coverage and interpretive results, source rock identification and maturity, formation seal effectiveness, availability of gravity and magnetic data to support structural modelling, and possible future hydrocarbon search activities/targets and their ranking. The author recommends the shooting of up to 95 line km of semi-detailed seismic, and the drilling of one of the three presently most favourable leads, as the logical next step in realising the perceived fair to good oil and gas potential of the permit.
