Report deals with an intermediary consultant's study of the socio-religious implications of locating three proposed PEL 24 1986 seismic lines within a 5500 square km area of the freehold Maralinga Tjarutja Lands, adjacent to the Wilkinson Lakes. To obtain the necessary background Aboriginal cultural information, meetings were held on the lands with the traditional owners, and an anthropological scouting survey was run in the vicinity of each proposed line by the owners and chosen tribal elders, the author as recorder, and the licensee's surveyor, geophysicist and geologist representatives. The study brief was to locate and record any Aboriginal anthropological sites known to exist along these routes, and to recommend measures to mitigate any impact the proposed work might have on such sites.
