AIM: To mature the recently defined East Avenue strong lead into a drillable prospect. METHODS: Survey dates: 14/3 - 17/3/96. Energy source: Vibroseis. CDP coverage: 17 500%. Recording mode: 350 channel digital - GEOCOR IV recorder. VP interval: 20.0 metres; group interval: 20.0 metres. RESULTS: 3 lines (2 dip, 1 strike) totalling 28.76 line km were acquired by Party 205 of Geosystems, and processed in Perth, WA, by Robertson Research Australia. From the total of 8 dip and 2 strike lines of recent coverage, combined with older seismic lines over the area, the East Avenue Prospect has been mapped and interpreted to contain combined recoverable hydrocarbon reserves of up to 534 Bcf gas or 187 MMbbls oil, based on an intra-Laira Formation objective plus a top Pretty Hill Sandstone objective. East Avenue 1 has subsequently been selected by the licensees to be drilled in 1997 as the PEL 39 first renewal term Year 3 commitment well.
