Report summarises the stratigraphic, sedimentological and organic geochemical data so far assembled for the Heatherdale Shale where it outcrops on the Gulf St Vincent coastline south of Adelaide, with the aim of: - establishing the location and cumulative thickness of petroleum source beds; - determining the organic richness, quality (oil versus gas-prone) and thermal maturity of the source rocks; - developing a model for source rock deposition; and - estimating the timing of hydrocarbon generation, as an aid to evaluating the prospectivity of the Stansbury Basin.
