This report describes in great detail the background, process and conclusions of a study commissioned by the PEL 60 licensees to test the usefulness of aeromagnetic data to interpreting basin structural fabric and history, particularly for assisting with fault correlations and for planning seismic programmes. A wide variety of aeromagnetic image types were analysed for anomaly characterisation, and comparison of image plots generated using the pseudo-depth-slicing technique has led to the identification of significant variations in structural trends with depth.
