This data package contains a suite of maps which incorporates the interpretation of the Stockdale Seismic Survey and a summary of two prospects, Lakeside and Churinga, considered by PEL 60 operator Oil Co. of Australia to be the primary drilling candidates for the licence Year 4 commitment well. The purpose of the data package is to provide the PEL 60 joint venture partners with the basic data required to assess the prospectivity of these targets. Following the drilling of Nunga Mia 1 and Nunga Mia 1 DW1 in 1996, petroleum exploration focus has switched to the basal Eumeralla Formation regional unconformity seal, seen as representing the primary locator for plays in the onshore Robe Trough. This is because Nunga Mia 1 demonstrated that here no deeper Laira Formation shale facies was present to act as a top seal to potential intra - Crayfish Group sandstone reservoirs, as occurs in the neighbouring Penola Trough. Therefore in PEL 60 the base Eumeralla seismic reflector is now considered to be the principal structural marker for determining trap configuration. As part of this data package, time and depth structure maps have been prepared for the basal Eumeralla unconformity. In addition, time and depth structure maps have been prepared for a mapped intra - Crayfish Group reflector (believed to be the seismically correlated equivalent to the top Pretty Hill Formation in the Penola Trough). The timing of structural growth is regarded as a critical issue for petroleum entrapment within the Robe Trough, since much of the deeper prospective section will have reached maturity before trap development took place. Thus relatively recently formed structures will be required to provide valid traps, that may have been sourced from the upper Crayfish Group section, such as the moderate to good source rock intervals encountered in the Crayfish-A 1 offshore well. Mapping of the Stockdale survey data has shown that the Lakeside structure has undergone significant, probably mid-Tertiary uplift, suggesting that much of the presently seen closure was formed quite recently.
