Santos Ltd contracted WesternGeco to record the 2002 Gidgealpa 3D Seismic Survey during March 2002. This grid of 198.7 sq kms was designed to cover 8 existing production licences and also the previously recorded 1992 Gidgealpa Unit 3D Seismic Survey. The location of the survey was some 20kms north-west of Moomba. Seismic ties were made to existing surveys, namely the 2000 Swan Lake 3D and Cowralli-Hackett-Tindilpie 3D Seismic Surveys. Receiver lines were spaced 320m apart and source lines spaced also at 320m. Group interval was 40m and VP interval 113m. All data was processed at CGG in Perth.
