Santos Ltd contracted Terrex Seismic Pty Ltd to record the 2008 Caroowinnie 3D Seismic Survey during May 2008. The principal objectives of the survey were to fully image the crest of the Narcoonowie structure, give a better resolution of the Birkhead section and define adjacent near field potential. It was anticipated that appraisal and development wells would be located in both the Narcoonowie and Caroowinnie fields. The location of the survey was in Santos held PPL 14 and 25 but also covered portions of PEL 95 and 115 held by Beach Energy and Victoria Petroleum respectively. The survey area was some 65 km south east of Moomba. Total surface covered by this survey was 94kms2. Source and receiver lines were spaced 280 metres apart. Acquisition parameters were Group Interval of 35 meters and a VP Interval of 35m for maximum CDP coverage of 30 fold stack. No upholes were recorded. All data was processed by WesternGeco in Adelaide.
