Tenement holder Geothermal Resources Ltd contracted Terrex Seismic Services to record the 2009 Curnamona Seismic Survey on its Geothermal Exploration Licences 181 and 210. The location of the survey area was east of the Flinders Ranges, over the Arrowie Basin. This area is known for a thick sequence of Cambrium and Proterozoic sediments overlying crystalline rocks of the Curnamona Province. The 27 line km single east-west Vibroseis traverse was made during September 2009, approximately 55 km due south of Lake Frome. The location of the survey was selected in order to provide a determination of the depth to an interpreted granitic body within the Frome Geothermal Project area, the target in this area being a hot fractured granite pluton inferred to lie at 3000+ m depth below the ground surface. The seismic data acquisition parameters were a Group Interval of 40 m and a VP Interval of 40 m, for obtaining a maximum nominal CDP coverage of 160 fold stack. No new upholes were recorded for this survey. All of the raw seismic data were processed by Velseis Processing in Brisbane. A ground gravity survey was also acquired along the line of traverse, with 56 stations read at either 480 m or 520 m intervals.
