PEL187 located in the Otway basin just to the south of Mt Gambier was granted to Neo Oil Pty Ltd on 28/1/2005.The initial term was for 5 years over an original area of 268km2. Exploration activities were restricted to the recording of the 2006 Mt Gambier Gravity Survey and the 2007 Kilsby Detailed Gravity survey. The licence was transferred to Geothermal Resources Pty Ltd on 3/12/2008. Seismic interpretation failed to locate a drillable target and after a series of suspensions and variations plus an inability to attract any farm-in partners the licence was surrendered before entering the fifth year on 24/5/2011.
