Santos Ltd contracted Terrex Seismic Pty Ltd to record the 2013 Gaschnitz 3D Seismic Survey during July-August 2013. The purpose of the survey was designed to evaluate the gas production potential of this area of the Nappamerri Trough with particular focus on the Toolachee, Daralingie, Epsilon, Patchawarra and Tirrawarra sands outside of structural closure. It was anticipated that results would allow for the optimizing of future locations of vertical and horizontal wells. The location of the survey was within 15 Santos held PPL’s (17, 80 and 101) and the survey area was some 30 km north of Moomba. Total surface covered by this survey was 123km2. Source and receiver lines were spaced 400 m apart and there was a Group Interval and VP interval of 50 m for maximum CDP coverage of 593 fold stack. A total of 10 upholes were recorded for the survey. All data was processed by Global Geophysical Services Inc. in Texas USA.
