The Cowralli Surface Micro-Seismic Survey was a large surface array designed to monitor micro-seismic events triggered by fracture stimulation in 16 wells located on the Cowralli multi well pads. The Cowralli Multi-well pad drilling program was an infill development project involving 2 drilling rigs and 16 wells all drilled from 2 pads. All 16 wells were intended to be fracture stimulated with an average of 6 fraccs per well. The prime objectives of the survey included: • To determine the effectiveness of this surface micro-seismic technology as a cost effective way to monitor micro-seismic events • To interpret the micro-seismic events to assist in the understanding of fracture geometry. 1410 recording channels were deployed onto 12 lines arranged in a radial fashion around the 2 Cowralli Well pads which are located approximate 30 km north west of Moomba in primarily, PPL 91 and 140. Terrex Seismic provided line clearing, recording equipment and logistics while Micro-Seismic Inc provided survey design, processing of the data and interpretation. RPS Pty Ltd were contracted to provide surveying logistics.
