Three widely spaced lines of experimental reconnaisance Vibroseis reflection seismic data of varying fold totalling 84.5 km, plus 9 uphole shots for weathering/statics control involving 1040 metres of rotary drilling, were acquired along existing roads within eastern-central PEL 24 between 31 January - 27 February 1985 to assess regional hydrocarbon potential by investigating depth to basement and determining optimal seismic parameters for future survey work. Data quality varied from good, in the areas of deeper reflections, to quite poor in many areas, where little reflection energy was apparent below 300 metres. CDP coverage: 1600%, 2400% and 4800%. Recording mode: 96 channel digital - Texas Instruments DFS-V recorder. VP interval: 25.0 metres; group interval: 75.0, 50.0 and 25.0 metres. The survey was acquired by Party 5 of contractor Seiscom-Delta United (Australia) Pty Ltd and processed in Melbourne, Vic. by that company. Seismic interpretation was performed in Melbourne by the licensee.
