AIM: The 1986 Ingomar Seismic Survey was programmed to continue the regional investigation of basement depth in PEL 24, and to delineate any possible structural and stratigraphic hydrocarbon traps within troughs of the central-eastern Arckaringa Basin. METHODS: Survey dates: 19/5/86 - 23/6/86. Energy source: Vibroseis. CDP coverage: 3 750%. Recording mode: 300 channel digital - Geocor IV recorder. VP interval: 48.0 metres, group interval: 12.0 metres. RESULTS: 10 lines (8 dip, 2 strike) totalling 315.9 kms of reflection seismic data were acquired by Party 205 of Geo Systems Pty Ltd during May-June 1986, and 41 upholes were shot for weathering control. Seismic processing was carried out in Singapore by Western Geophysical Co., who as well undertook the re-processing of 102 line km of 1970-71 SA Mines Dept single fold reflection data at no extra cost. Interpretation of the final sections by licence operator CRAE indicates that the basin/troughs' structure is more convoluted than originally anticipated. Up to 850 milliseconds of apparent sedimentary section was encountered on line 86AK-14 across the Tallaringa Trough. Two Phillipson Trough exploration/stratigraphic drilling locations, Arkeeta 1 and Wirrida 1, were selected on line 86AK-06 at VPs 1380 and 335 respectively.

Notes: Comprises a letter of application to conduct the survey and 5 reports: i) anthropological; ii) preliminary operations; iii) digital processing; iv) final operations; v) final interpretive. One time structure map included. Gravity values were also read at 100 metre intervals along Ingomar Survey line 86AK-13 traversing the Wilkinson Lakes region (this single-cut line was for gravity acquisition only - no seismic was run along it), and the data reported to CRA as Solo Geophysics and Co. job no. 613A dated 26 February 1986.
