Exploration for possible economic large, low grade copper deposits within an area centred 30 miles south-east of Yunta has consisted of reconnaissance surface geophysical surveys which trialled a number of methods, followed by a brief geological inspection of old shallow copper workings and the acquisition and interpretation of semi-detailed and detailed IP and magnetic coverage, the latter including the acquisition of a low-level, 1620 line mile airborne magnetic/radiometric/VLF EM survey in December 1971 (at 1000 feet north-south line spacing and 200 feet mean terrain clearance). From this work four prospects have been identified that are considered to have good potential for holding economic sulphide mineralisation at depth: interpretation of possible fault-related, NE-SW striking coherent linear aeromagnetic anomalies suggests that their sources may lie at around 1000-2000 feet depth.
