AIM: To clarify and detail several prospective leads revealed by the 1980 Rendelsham Seismic Survey.RESULTS: The data quality was high. Seismic lines in the eastern portion of the survey demonstrated the existence of structural features within the Penola Trough having closure independent of the Diamond Swamp Block. Several features were mapped and established for future geological appraisal. Previous concepts and leads mapped in the Rendelsham Seismic Survey have been supported and expanded.In the northern part of the prospect area previously mapped, leads could not be substantiated and no new leads were mapped. The data provided additional information on the Penola Trough but regional interpretation is constrained by the very limited seismic coverage and lack of well control. Energy source: Vibroseis. CDP coverage: 2400%. Recording mode: Digital / Sercel 388B. 174 km lines of 48 channels. SP/VP interval: 60 metres, group interval: 60 metres. Survey dates: 22/2/81 - 28/3/81.
