Comprises details of the operations, field acquisition, processing, results and interpretation of the seismic survey. Recording began in November 1985 and ended in October 1986. A total of 3435 km of multifold data was recorded over 12 farmout blocks, and an additional 121 km over four producing fields and the Dilchee structure. Apart from 54 km of dynamite shooting over Lake Eyre, Vibroseis was used as the energy source. Primary objectives were to mature prospects for drilling, develop new leads and, in areas where there was limited or no seismic coverage, provide reliable information for further basinal studies. Separate geophysical interpretation reports were produced for each block, given area or prospect and contain a detailed discussion of the geology of the area, the existing geophysical information, the mapping technique used, and the results of the survey. Overlapping results from the Hogarth and Morphett seismic surveys are included in these reports. Herein are: Murta Block (Muteroo Area); Murta Block (Koree-Thurakinna Area); Toolachee Block (Tarwonga Area); Murta Block (Padulla Area); Murta Block (Thurakinna Field); Patchawarra Southwest Block (Southwest Region, Munchena-Mollichuta Areas); Murta Block (Kopi-Merinda Area); Murta Block (Warra-Pintari Area); Murta Block (Keena-Spencer Area); Patchawarra Central Block (Patchawarra Flank Area); Moomba Block (Wadrinna/Selwyn, Moomba North Flank Areas); Murta Block (Barra-Karina Area); Haddon Block (East Haddon Block Area); Haddon Block (Haddon Downs Area); Dalhousie Block (Regional); Mulka Block (Mulapula, Mulkarra, Warrandinna Areas; indexed separately; available on microfiche); Nappacoongee-Murteree Block (Mandora Area).

Notes: Plans include time structure and time interval. Includes report on: - 1986 seismic survey, Fletcher, geophysical interpretation report for the Mulka Block (Mulapula, Mulkarra, Warrandinna Areas). A total of 57 lines were used in this interpretation of the Mulka Block, consisting of 17 1986 lines covering 321 line kms and another 40 lines from the 1982, 1984 and 1985 seismic surveys. The new data ties with, and extends to the south, the 1985 Morphett-MUL detail grid over the Mulapula structure, ties with 1984/85 predetail data at the Mulkarra prospect, and ties regionally with 1984/85 data in the west and northwest of the Block. Well control was provided from Kalladeina 1 (Patchawarra Southwest Block), Lake Hope 1 (Lake Hope Block) and Poonarunna 1 (Lake Eyre Block). Five regional seismic horizons (C', 'DN', 'DX', H' and 'Z') were mapped. Despite section polarities differing widely between surveys, a consistent data set for interpreting was satisfactorily obtained, principally by updating field statics to resolve misties. The results significantly enhanced understanding of the structural history of the Block area during Late Mesozoic times, besides revealing regional sedimentation mechanisms. The detailed 1986 coverage over the Mulapula area permitted the evaluation of several hypotheses based upon 1985 Morphett survey data, particularly with respect to adjacent structures modelled on the Birdsville Track Ridge and Warrandinna-Lake Promise Trend. Available data now indicates 2 principal phases of structuring - the first prior to Eromanga Basin sedimentation (?Ordovician), and the second during Early to Mid-Tertiary time, with minimal syndepositional structuring occurring during the Mesozoic. Changes in depositional regime during sedimentation were the result of regional subsidence, etc occurring beyond Block boundaries. On the basis of this interpretation, the Mulapula structure is prospective for entrapping liquid hydrocarbons and is recommended as a drilling location. The prospect is the highest 4-way dip-closed structure in the Block, and is located on the upper flank of the Birdsville Track Ridge with access to mature source rocks onlapping both sides. The Mulkarra structure now appears to consist of several poorly-defined culminations, the most easterly of which in future are to be known as the Lake Howitt leads. The Fletcher-MUL data addition did not produce a marked effect on the size and elevation of these culminations. However, the 3 lines shot in 1986 did better define an area of anomalous seismic character (an almost circular bad data zone') first observed on line 85-ZKM. A further two rounds of seismic will be required to infill the current 4 km line spacing on Mulkarra and locate the crests. The Warrandinna lead remains a very large (50,000 acres) but poorly-defined feature requiring considerable further seismic delineation. Block: Dalhousie Doc No: Env 06483
