Exploration for economic base metal deposits in folded, sheared and migmatised much-layered Palaeoproterozoic metasediments of the Cathedral Rock area has included 1:25,000 scale geological mapping, geochemical sampling of gossan and banded iron formation occurrences, gridding of selected prospects followed by more detailed mapping and surface sampling, plus the conduct of a ground magnetometer survey, and testing of IP/magnetic anomalies beneath massive limonitic gossans at the Cathedral Rock and Lady Louise prospects via two rotary percussion/diamond drillholes totalling 299.3 m. Semi-massive pyrite lacking significant base metal mineralisation was intersected in both holes. Hole CR1 returned best assays of 315 ppm Cu, 400 ppm Pb and 260 ppm Zn from disseminated pyrite stringers averaging 2% of unweathered bedrock, whereas hole LL1 encountered denser concentrations of up to 25% pyrite within epidote - amphibole rich quartz-feldspar-biotite schists, which carried up to 1550 ppm Cu, 80 ppm Pb and 4300 ppm Zn.
