AIM: A detailed grid of 9 lines totalling 71.6 line kms was shot in this survey to firm up two previously recognised but insufficiently profiled leads mapped on line OC85-22, near the Renmark Trough Permian depocentre. METHODS: Survey dates: 23 July - 2 August 1985. Energy source: Geoflex (Redcord). CDP coverage: 1200%. Recording mode: 120 channel digital - Sercel 358 recorder. SP interval: 125.0 m; group interval: 25.0 m. RESULTS: A viable 4-way dip closed structure has been established 5 kms to the west of North Renmark 1 (the Cooltong Prospect). The survey results confirmed the presence of two structural highs at both Pyap Member level and base Permian / Top Devonian, as first indicated by 1985 seismic data. The easternmost, Cooltong high exhibits approximately 20 milliseconds of Lower Cretaceous closure over an area of roughly 8 square kms. Structuring appears to be related to NE-SW trending arcuate normal faults, which are better defined by the 1987 seismic grid and show the prospect to have more relief than the other lead 2 kms to the west. A well location is recommended at SP 450 on line IM87-5.
