Well-derived average surface-to-basement geothermal gradient data, obtained by direct bottomhole temperature measurement from 560 selected wells drilled in the Delhi-Santos Cooper/Pedirka Basins petroleum exploration areas, have been collated and plotted to produce regional geothermal gradient maps which relate to a consistent datum (top of pre-Permian basement), for application to the licensees' ongoing petroleum prospectivity studies.
