This report presents a set of tenement-based petroleum exploration play maps synthesizing the licensees' accumulated hydrocarbon discovery, seal, porosity, source and maturity data for the major reservoirs in the Cooper and Eromanga Basins, viz. the Tirrawarra Sandstone, Patchawarra Formation, Toolachee Formation and Hutton Sandstone. Current ideas about the respective importance of the above factors in determining favourable petroleum entrapment conditions are discussed, and conclusions are drawn regarding play types which should be given priority in the regional search for new oil pools.
