Ground scintillometer work carried out by BHP over its SMLs in the Middleback Range area has been shown not to be an effective reconnaissance tool for finding uranium anomalies, but it does have demonstrated value for identifying sources of radioactivity in any detailed follow-up to mineralogically anomalous outcrop sites found by mapping and prospecting.
