A search for possible economic tin or other metallic mineralisation, conducted on the subject licence which covers the isthmus that extends between Lakes Harris and Gairdner, as well as onthe licensee's adjoining SML 522 covering ground to the west of Lake Harris, has consisted only of a preliminary field reconnaissance and limited geochemical sampling of outcrops, historic gold mine workings, and alluvial sediments on the bed of Lake Harris adjacent to Glenloth Goldfield, the latter accessed by drilling 7 auger holes, each to 10 feet depth. Assaying of these rock and sediment samples returned mainly background trace metal values, apart from minor elevated gold and silver-lead-bismuth detected in lode samples collected from the Lone Hand mine and in rock chips from outcrop G3. A regional aeromagnetic high anomaly noted in the north-western corner of SML 508, under the inlet of Lake Harris, was slated for possible geophysical investigation to see if it exhibits similar features to Asarco Australia's Kokatha prospect lying further to the west.
