Greenfields base and precious metals exploration conducted by CSR in the Eyre Peninsula uplands lying north and north-east of Cleve has consisted of orientation, regional reconnaissance and detailed geochemical sampling, 1 inch:half mile scale geological mapping, and the acquisition and interpretation of a low-level airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, with ground-based follow-up. Broadly stratigraphic, elevated lead and zinc anomalism in stream sediments and soils was identified associated with magnetic trends in the Yeldulknie Creek and Mount Millar areas. No significant radioactivity was found by scintillometer traverses. Testing of promising geochemical anomalies in areas of shallow Recent cover by auger drilling and bedrock sampling is continuing.
