To test interesting VLF EM anomalies that had been recorded over some of the Manna Hill Goldfield workings in May 1971, under Elvire's tenure of a prior SML 479, two vertical percussion holes for a combined total penetration of 375 feet were drilled, one at each of the Trojan and Westward Ho! prospects. Economic copper mineralisation was not located at Trojan, despite the earlier found promising surface showings within quartz-ironstone veins, but significant gold mineralisation (0.61 oz/ton Au over the depth interval 45-50 feet) was intersected at Westward Ho!, where further geophysical work is recommended.
