A programme of ground magnetic surveying along 7 short traverses, plus air/mud drag-bit percussion drilling (5 vertical open holes totalling 509 m) was used to investigate a set of previously untested discrete aeromagnetic high anomalies covered by Tertiary sediments, that lie about 60 km south-east of Olary, adjacent to the Anabama - Redan Fault Zone and along trend from the Mutoroo Ridge copper occurrences. Based on petrographic evidence, the anomalies appear to have been caused by barren magnetite-bearing siltstones present in basement of presumed Adelaidean age.
