As part of a search for possible concealed stratiform base metal and precious metal deposits in the Olary district, induced polarisation surveys have located several significant anomalies in the Luxemberg mine area. A diamond drilling campaign (5 holes totalling 3109 feet) has disclosed a zone of disseminated copper sulphide mineralisation to the south of the mine workings, with a 20 foot intersection of 2.6% Cu, including 8 feet at 5.8%, obtained from below the Queen Bee lode. Exploratory percussion drilling carried out on other nearby prospects (35 holes totalling 2361 feet) has also intersected encouraging grades of copper mineralisation. An extensive follow-up diamond and percussion drilling programme is planned.
