TARGET: Economic tin mineralisation. EXPLORATION: 1:32,000 scale detailed geological mapping, diamond drilling (9 shallow vertical holes - deepest 57 feet) in the Mount Mitchell area near Glenloth Goldfield, bulk sampling of greisen and vein quartz, surface geochemical sampling, plus mercury emanometer and scintillometer surveys. RESULTS: Low grade tin mineralisation in the form of cassiterite exists, especially in quartz veins within foliated granite at Mount Mitchell and in various more widely spread outcrops of greisen, but its distribution is patchy.
