Reconnaissance stream sediment geochemical sampling of the country surrounding two small historic copper mining areas located north-east of Blinman revealed several copper anomalies worthy of follow-up. Detailed geological mapping was carried out over the area of two new mining leases issued to cover the abandoned Mount Rose workings, where high grade copper sulphide ore was known to have been mined. Test IP/resistivity surveying of this prospect and of the similar mined occurrences along the upper Yudnamutana Creek disclosed numerous IP anomalies extending beyond the known lodes. Exploratory diamond drilling (6 vertical holes totalling 1300 feet) was undertaken to investigate selected IP anomalies on the Mount Rose geophysical grid. This returned best mineralised intercepts of 0.93% Cu from the depth interval 50-60 feet in hole MR3 drilled on ML 3372, and 0.43% Cu from the depth interval 270-280 feet in both MR5 and MR6, which were drilled nearby on the adjoining ML 3373.
