Grid-based reconnaissance and follow-up detailed IP surveying totalling in excess of 90 line miles has been carried out by Mines Exploration on private land holdings near Kanmantoo during January-April 1962, legal access being secured initially under the rights of specific Authorities to Enter conferred by Section 69d of the Mining Act, 1930-1962. Significant IP anomalies were disclosed in the vicinity of the old Kanmantoo copper workings, over widths in excess of 1000 feet, extending over a total length of around 2 miles. Infill IP profiling down to a line spacing of 100 feet was done in the latter stages of this investigation. The most promising anomalous zones, which were also later checked for indications of conductive sulphides by conducting AFMAG traverses over selected lines, have subsequently been proposed for diamond drilling under the protection of 24 Mineral Claims that were registered in July 1962.
