A 6 mGal residual gravity anomaly situated under south-eastern Lake Gairdner was investigated to find out if it might indicate the presence of Olympic Dam type mineralisation in the hidden subsurface. A detailed ground gravity and magnetic survey was run on a 12 km x 12 km grid centred on the anomaly. The results were uninteresting, and implied that errors of station levelling may have contributed to false creation of the original anomaly.
