Adelaidean sediments of the Stuart Shelf, like those associated with the stratiform copper-uranium mineralisation at Olympic Dam, were sought beneath the northern half of the licence area using aeromagnetic and gravity methods, seeking to determine if such rocks are preserved at reasonable depths from the surface. A selected magnetic anomaly was test drilled to basement by the Warriner Creek 1 stratigraphic diamond drillhole, but no Adelaidean sediments were intersected. Magnetic susceptibility and density measurements on retrieved drill core, plus evaluation of seismic data from recently completed SADME refraction traverses, were used to reappraise the potential for Adelaidean target rocks to exist in the near vicinity. The outcome was a decision to relinquish that portion of EL 325 lying north of latitude 29 degrees 40 minutes South.
