An airborne spectrometer/magnetometer survey of the Upper Proterozoic rocks of the northern Bibliando Dome, covering 877 line miles at approximately a height above ground level of 300 feet and line spacing of 1000 feet, was conducted by joint venturer Esso Australia Ltd in a search for uranium, copper and lead-zinc mineralisation. Field checking of 38 resulting anomalies failed to disclose either significant anomalous radioactivity or visible base metal occurrences. Geological conditions for the hosting of major ore bodies appear to be lacking in the area, based on a critical interpretation of all available data.
