The Bibliando Dome area 50 km east of Hawker was investigated by WMC because it showed similar regional gravity and magnetic features to those in the Olympic Dam area, and possessed minor but possibly significant Cu-Pb-Ag-Au mineralisation at the Baratta and Eukaby mine workings. The core of this structure is not exposed, in comparison to those of other domal or diapiric structures in the region. Following the acquisition and interpretation of 120 line km of ground magnetic and gravity surveys along sixteen traverses, one precollared (to 84 m) stratigraphic diamond drillhole was put down to a total depth of 562.3 m, without reaching the magnetic basement or encountering any base metal mineralisation. The hole terminated within siltstones and fine-grained quartzites of an un-named unit underlying the Umberatana Group sequence. Estimated depth to magnetic basement is approximately 900 m at this locality, which proved to be beyond the capacity of the drilling rig used.
