Exploration for possible economic Olympic Dam - type epithermal/hydrothermal or Zambian Copperbelt - type stratabound/replacement base metal deposits, in an area located approximately 40 km south-east of Yunta, focussed on magnetic anomalies and prepared strata within the lower Adelaidean Burra Group metasedimentary sequence, that both overlie two intersecting major crustal lineaments known to have significant mineralisation present elsewhere along their trends. Work comprised geological mapping, plus regional reconnaissance and detailed grid-based surface geochemical sampling of two sites. The deeply weathered and highly leached outcrop environment in these places made for complicated geochemical results, with no easily discernable targets identified, although many trace metals are dispersed in significantly above-background levels within evaporitic units.
