32 rock samples, of unknown age, taken from the carbonate sequence intersected above the salt diapir section in SADME Wilkinson 1 stratigraphic drillhole, were examined petrographically to determine their possible depositional environment. Another 21 rock samples selected from all of the cored intervals in the drillhole were either semi-quantitatively analysed by emission spectrography for a diagnostic suite of trace elements, or were studied to assess their mineragraphic composition.
