Continued uranium exploration in this area of the northern Murray Basin was aimed at following up anomalous radioactivity encountered during previous work, and further delineating the nature of the Tertiary sand development and associated uranium mineralisation. Seventeen open rotary drillholes were completed for a total of 1168 m. The drilling encountered a relatively uniform sequence of Quaternary cover over Tertiary Parilla-Loxton Sand and carbonaceous sediments of the Winnambool Formation (interpreted as Knight Group by Minad). Shallow ?Adelaidean basement was intersected in several holes. All holes were geophysically logged for their subsurface gamma ray, resistivity and SP responses. No significant anomalous radioactivity was detected.
