During exploration for possible economic stratabound base metal sulphides within the Upper Proterozoic Tindelpina Shale Member, 80 km east of Hawker, 647 samples of weathered calcareous black shale were collected along a 90 km strike distance as part of a regional soil sampling programme. No significant base metal anomalism was found, nor was there any visual evidence of prior sulphide occurrence, within the licence portion now relinquished.
