Diamond exploration was undertaken in the Peterborough area by aerial and ground magnetic surveying plus RAB drilling (259 holes, total 6781 m) aimed at identifying kimberlite as the source of numerous delineated magnetic anomalies. Bulk samples of a previously known kimberlite (Anomaly 65) were taken by close-spaced large diameter rotary percussion drilling, but no diamonds were recovered.
