The known gold-mineralised Tarcowie Siltstone and Waukaringa Siltstone units, where outcropping in shallowly dipping situations on synclinal fold axes, plus where also present as host rocks at the historic Kings Bluff, Copperlinka and Eringa gold workings, were examined to assess their potential for hosting stratabound quartz veins containing sufficient gold to allow economic mining by open cast methods. However, all of the observed veins were too thin and discontinuous along strike, and only composed of milky quartz, thus appearing to offer little potential for finding the hidden reserves tonnage being sought.
