Reports describe the ongoing search for economic copper and/or Broken Hill type lead-zinc deposits over a wide area of Early Proterozoic basement outcrop surrounding and adjacent to the historic Trinity copper mine. Five principal prospects were investigated with detailed 1:25,000 scale and 1:10,000 scale geological mapping, bedrock auger and rock chip geochemistry, Crone EM and ground magnetic surveying, shallow RAB drilling, and follow-up percussion drilling to vertical depths of the order of 100 m (28 holes overall, total 2524 m). At Dey Hill prospect, on the southern of two PEM anomalies associated with graphitic schists and gneisses containing disseminated marmatite mineralisation, the best mineralised intersection was 26 m at 0.53% Zn in PTBA22. The corresponding interval 1 km away along strike under the northern PEM anomaly returned 24 m at 0.34% Zn in PTBA32. At Mingary prospect, percussion drilling of a broad PEM anomaly coincident with a magnetic anomaly intersected minor chalcopyrite (8 m of 0.12% Cu in PTMY5). Several areas of gossanous float anomalous in Cu-As-Au-Bi were located at the Pegline Dam prospect. The area under tenure has now been reduced by half through the partial relinquishment of ground lying south of Mutooroo.
